The Philadelphia Eagles aren’t yet done with the defensive lines of their team.
Philly signed defensive tackle Ndamukong Suff for a one-year agreement Thursday the team announced.
The Eagles defense has been struggling against the run in 2022, giving 4.7 yards per rush which ranks at 25th place in NFL. Philadelphia was also recently unable to replace first-round defensive lineman Jordan Davis and tackle Marlon Tuipulotu due to injuries. Davis was put on injured reserve on November. 2 because of an ankle problem, and Tuipulotu was placed on IR on Tuesday as a result of an injury to his knee.
Philly has also signed ex- Pro Bowl defensive tackle Linval Joseph on Wednesday, which will add to a defensive line that includes players like Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave along with Brandon Graham.
Suh who is a five-time Pro Bowler has not yet played this season after playing the last three seasons as a player for his team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Suh, 35, racked up the score of 112 tackles, and 14.5 sacks in 49 regular season games for Tampa Bay while helping the team to win the Super Bowl.
Philadelphia is Suh’s 5th different team during his career. Suh, who was a second-round pick, was a part of the first 5 NFL years with the Detroit Lions (2010-14) before joining the Miami Dolphins (2015-17), Los Angeles Rams (2018) and Bucs (2019-21).
This Nebraska item is the second significant addition to the Eagles in defense. The team bought the pass-rusher Robert Quinn in trade to Chicago Bears on Oct. 26.
The 8-1 Eagles are set to play their rivals the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, were beaten for the first time this season to their opponents, the Washington Commanders in Week 10. Philly gave up an average of 152 yards from the ground during the game.
