Lil Wayne Suffers Major Setback In $20m Legal Battle With Former Manager

Lil Wayne’s lawsuit against his former manager Ronald Sweeney has taken the brunt of the damage following the decision of an appeals court to reject four of his main claims during the trial.

As per Law.com, the New Orleans rapper had four claims that were struck over in the Appellate Division for “causes of action for fraudulent inducement, legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, and unjust enrichment.”

Sweeney claims that he was Wayne’s main manager and attorney since 2005. He’s now seeking a cut of Wayne’s agreement in the case of Cash Money Records to the amount of $20 million.

The lawsuit claims it was because Lil Wayne “failed and refused to pay plaintiffs his promised 10 percent of the recovery from lawsuits, 10 percent of the sale of master recordings owned by Lil Wayne’s record label, and then 17 percent in general commissions that he owes to Plaintiffs in connection with Plaintiff’s day to day management activities.”

As per AllHipHop according to AllHipHop report, according to AllHipHop, the Young Money boss skipped out in a deposition during the lawsuit against Ronald Sweeney in August 2021. Sweeney’s team believed Wayne tried to delay the lawsuit until the case was dismissed by the judge.

Attorney for Sweeney, John Harris, was reported to be pleased with the ruling of the appellate court and its client “will vigorously pursue his claims for payment and require Lil Wayne to appear in court to answer for his actions.”

The lawsuit isn’t the only one in which Wayne is involved at this time. In the last month, Weezy was sued by the former Chef Morgan Medlock for wrongful termination and revenge in addition to other matters.

Medlock has claimed that she went with Wayne on a Memorial Day trip to Las Vegas but was forced to go home after being informed that her son was injured at the age of 10 an injury to his head that had caused him to be in a hospital.

An unidentified spokesperson on behalf of Young Money boss told The Neighborhood Talk that Medlock’s dismissal had nothing to have to do with an emergency in her family, saying rather that Medlock was dismissed for a breach of her privacy.

In a blog post that shared this statement, the neighborhood Talk made reference to numerous TikTok posts where she claimed to be Lil Wayne’s personal chef.
