Michael Jackson Turned Down 2Pac Collab Over Biggie Loyalty

Former Death Row Records artist Danny Boy has refuted claims that Michael Jackson declined to collaborate with 2Pac because he was loyal to his adversary The Notorious B.I.G.

Producer Quincy “QD3” Jones III reportedly asserted that ‘Pac’s team contacted the King of Pop in an effort to secure the rapper a feature on his 1996 album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, which was released just before his death.

Jackson, who collaborated with Biggie on “This Time Around” the year prior, refused the offer for one clear reason: loyalty to Biggie.

Quincy “QD3” Jones III recently asserted that Michael Jackson once declined to work with 2Pac because of his devotion to The Notorious B.I.G., while Danny Boy calls this assertion “BS.” During a weekend interview with The Art of Dialogue, the former Death Row Records singer talked about the rumor.

Danny Boy harshly responds to rumors of Michael Jackson refusing to cooperate

“Shut up, lies,” Danny Boy said in response to Jones’ claim. “I hate to be like that wasn’t said, but I remember myself being in the meeting with Michael Jackson and the All Eyez on Me album being played for him, and Michael went crazy. So I don’t see him saying he messed with Biggie and not 2Pac, or you know what I’m saying. Suge [Knight] and the Jacksons are very close. They were at that time so that just doesn’t sound right to me.”

In order to have Jackson appear on 2Pac’s The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, 2Pac’s team allegedly contacted Jackson, according to Jones. According to reports, the goal was to convince Jackson to appear on “Thug Nature,” a song that uses a sample of Jackson’s 1983 Thriller hit “Human Nature.”

Biggie and Jackson previously worked together on the song “This Time Around.”

Danny Boy continued: “Why would we put Michael Jackson in some shit like that. He ain’t picking a side, East Coast West Coast. This shit is just going on and on, and it’s getting more bananas. Michael Jackson liked Biggie and Prince liked 2Pac, man stop it.”
