Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube And Mc Hammer Among Rap Stars Paying Tribute To Coolio

Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and MC Hammer are just a few of the significant rappers who have been paying tribute to Coolio in the wake of news of his demise.

It was the US rapper, famous for his hit song from 1995 Gangsta’s Paradise, was remembered for his “grind” and was described by his fans as “one of the sweetest guys”.

He was confirmed by his manager, which was 59, to a variety of US press outlets in the US on Wednesday.

Snoop Dogg referred to the track’s famed popularity in his own tribute, noting: “Gangstas paradise R I P.”

He also posted a pic with the duo on Instagram as they posed on the stage in the music clip for the track they co-wrote together Gangsta Walk, released in 2006.

The former NWA superstar Ice Cube said he had seen Coolio “grind up to the very top of his business” in his own tribute to Coolio.

“This is a very sad time,” the rapper and actor posted on Twitter.

“I witnessed this man’s journey to the top of his game. Rest In Peace @Coolio.”

MC Hammer described Coolio as “one of the nicest people I’ve ever met”.

“Good people. RIP Coolio,” he posted, posting an image in black and white of the rapper. He then followed up by uploading a second photo of the two together alongside Tupac Snoop Dogg.

Questlove also posted an image in black and white of himself on Instagram with the caption: “Peaceful journey brother”.

New York rapper Flava Flav was also saddened by the loss Coolio in a post on Twitter: “Coolio was the West Coast Flavor Flav He was the West Coast Flavor Flav He was a fervent advocate for telling anyone who asked him that.

“We were supposed to be performing on this Tuesday. My friend’s name is RIP.

“Rest in Gangsta’s paradise my friend.”

The Gangsta’s paradise was made fun of by US musician Weird Al Yankovic, as Amish Paradise. He also paid tribute to the rapper with a short video on the social networks.

Sharing a photo of the couple embracing and kissing, he posted: “RIP Coolio”.

One of the first to respond to the news was fellow US artist Vanilla Ice, who said that he felt “freaking out” when he learned of the reports.

“I’m shocked to have discovered that my dear friend Coolio died,” the rapper, real name Robert Matthew Van Winkle, posted on Twitter.

In his own tribute online, US rapper LL Cool J wrote: “Rest in power my brother. “@Coolio Respect and Love”.
